SSC Constable GD Selection Procedure – Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release notification for recruitment of candidates to the posts of Constable (General Duty). The candidates for the posts of Constable (GD) will be shortlisted on the basis of an open competitive examination. The SSC Constable GD Selection Procedure will comprise of the subsequent stages – Physical Standards Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Examination and Medical Examination. Candidates qualifying the PST/PET will appear for the written examination. Based on performance in the Written Examination, candidates will be shortlisted for Medical Examination in a ratio as may be decided by the Commission. After conducting the medical examination, the Commission will process and declare the final list of selected candidates state-wise without making Force Allocation. Based on the merit list declared by SSC, the MHA/CRPF will make Force Allocation etc. and declare the result.

1.) The SSC Constable GD Selection Procedure 2016 is explained below in a detailed manner.
Physical Standard Test/Physical Efficiency Test
This is the first stage of SSC Constable GD Selection Procedure.
Physical Standards Test (PST)/Physical Endurance Test (PET) will be scheduled and conducted by the CAPFs.
Candidates who are found eligible on height parameters will undergo PET (race) followed by biometric identification & screening of testimonials and thereon chest and weight measurements by a board.
Candidates declared qualified on PET/PST will be called to appear for the written examination.
Written Examination The Commission will conduct written examination of candidates qualified in PST/PET.
The written examination will be conducted in both online and offline mode.
The written examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks.Candidates qualifying the Written Examination will be asked to appear for RME/DME.
All questions will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type.Only those candidates who have scored above the cut off marks fixed by the Commission in Written Examination will be required to appear in the Medical Examination.
The Commission shall have the discretion to fix different qualifying standards for candidates belonging to different categories in different states/UTs, taking into consideration vacancies allotted to each State/UT. RME/DME
1.) The selected candidates will be medically examined by the medical boards constituted by the CAPFs to assess their physical and medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility conditions.
2.) Medical Test (X-Ray & laboratory) shall be conducted only for such candidates who are found fit after passing through all the level of tests.
3.) Testimonials of the candidates will be checked at the medical examination stage.
4.) After conduct of RME/DME, the Commission will declare the final list of selected candidates state-wise without making Force allocation. However, Force Allocation and declaration of final result will be made by MHA/ CRPF.
SSC Constable GD Selection Procedure 2016 – Important Points
1.) Allotment of CAPF to the candidates selected from each state will be done by MHA/ CRPF on the basis of merit list submitted by SSC depending on availabilities of vacancies in each CAPF for the State
2.) Result will be declared on the basis of merit-cum-preference of forces/ organization exercised by the candidate.
3.) The Commission will prepare the final merit list of candidates category wise and state-wise without making any force allocation.
4.) Force allocation will be done by Nodal CRPF/MHA and the final result will also be declared by them in both online and off-line mode.
