PSTET

Punjab is going to conduct Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools in Punjab.

Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage)

1.) Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) /2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

2.) Graduate candidates with passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education can also apply for PSTET 2015.

3.) Candidates passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 are also eligible to apply for PSTET.

Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for VI-VIII (Elementary Stage)

1.) Candidates passed their Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) can apply for PSTET.  Graduate candidates with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard are also eligible to apply for PSTET 2015.

2.) Candidates passed Senior Secondary (with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/ 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.can apply for PSTET.

How to apply for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test

1.) The eligible candidates shall apply on-line for the PSTET-I or PSTET-II or Both, at the website www.tetpunjab.com. from 04-JULY-2016(10:00 AM) to 21-JULY-2016 (Upto 05:00 PM). Fill your correct general and academic details like Name, DOB, Address, Contact No., and qualifying exam details. After successful filling of Online Application Form, a Confirmation Page along with a Unique Application Number which the candidate can use for future correspondence.

2.) After successful registration the candidates can pay their Punjab TET 2016 application as mentioned below by direct deposit through any Master/Visa Credit/Debit Card. Candidates can also deposit their fee through the net banking available for any of the listed banks at PSTET official website. Candidates can opt the bank where he/she interested to deposit the examination fee and will take the print of bank challan (two copies-one for candidate & one for bank). After taking the print of challan, the candidate shall approach the concerned bank to deposit the fee.

PSTET application fee

1.) For Paper I or II

– Rs. 600/- for General / BC / OBC Category, Rs. 300 /- for SC / ST Category / Differently Abled,  No fee  for Ex-Servicemen Self-only candidates.

2.) For both Paper I and II

– Rs. 1200/- for General / BC / OBC Category, Rs. 600 /- for SC / ST Category / Differently Abled,  No fee  for Ex-Servicemen Self-only candidates.

PSTET examination pattern

Paper I (for classes I to V)

– Total number of MCQs 150 (150 marks) with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. Duration of the exam will be 1.30 hours.

1.) Child Development and Pedagogy-   30 MCQs

2.) Language I – 30 MCQs

3.) Language II- 30 MCQs

4.) Mathematics -30 MCQs

5.) Environmental Studies – 30 MCQs

Paper II (for classes VI to VII)

– Total number of MCQs 150 (150 marks) with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. Duration of the exam will be 1.30 hours.

1.) Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory) – 30 MCQs

2.) Language-I (compulsory) – 30 MCQs

3.) Language-II (compulsory) – 30 MCQs

4.) For Mathematics and Science teacher: Mathematics and Science – 60 MCQs

5.) For Social Studies/Social Science Teacher: Social Science -60 MCQs
